INSTALATION

Capri
The installation of decorative stone is very easy, since individual stones are secured to the grid, forming a plate.

Stone plates are secured to the wall or floor with an elastic adhesive for ceramics. During installation, it is necessary to take into account the colour of the stone, as white stones (Lymra and Alize) should always be glued with white glue, while other types of stones (Rainbow, Beige, Yellow and Noche Travertine, Maxima, Nesos Beige, Black Marble) can be glued with conventional, grey adhesive. Before gluing, it is necessary to ensure a clean, flat surface. The basis, on which the material will be glued, should not deviate. The installation is possible on rough plasters, fine plasters, aerated concrete, and plasterboards. We do not recommend installation on chipboard or wood, because wood is a breathable material, which would eventually result in a visible gap between the plates.

The installation is relatively easy, as the majority of patterns do not require grouting and are adhered to the joint, i.e. plate to plate. It is important that each line is straight and that plates are put closely side by side. The plates are calibrated to a certain size and thus do not cause deviations and unpleasant spacing.

The grid to which the stones are glued to can be put apart, so you can take individual stones out in order to process or replace it. If necessary, you can cut the grid with a utility knife.

After laying a few rows, it is advised to look at the area from a distance. This way you can see, if any of the joints are visible or if any of the panels varies in tone in comparison to others. In case of colour variation, which is merely a consequence of the effects of nature in the process of rock formation, the panel can be replaced with one that matches in colour, while the glue is still soft. In order to avoid problems with colour variation, it is recommended to inspect and prepare the material before installation. Lay the plates on the floor and check if they match.

TIP! The installation of stone mosaics can be done by a ceramist.

The patterns Garda and Lago require special installation. In this case, you should first cut the stones in half longitudinally, before laying the strips. This should be done because of bonding, since neglecting these instructions often results in visible joints, which cannot be covered later.

Angle solutions:
For patterns Roma and Verona, we also offer ends or corner elements. These are made in form of a band – the stones are cut from both sides and glued to a band. The corner elements for other patterns have to be made at the installation site. We use the cut at an angle of 45 ° or shifting of the plates.
